The number of Freepers who will openly vote for Romney is still around half from what I can tell, and while I don't think they're being banned quite yet, I think some are leaving because they're being called "wusses" and "liberal scum". have to tell you, I was in Washington last week and had not yet seen the WWII Memorial. Upon being there a little while, and seeing the great victory the Lord had granted the allies, being suddenly overcome with the gravity of the peril we faced, I burst into tears. I let the tears flow without shame. A couple women came by and hugged me because they understood. No words were needed. There was also a lovely WWII veteran there that I was blessed to shake hands with and thank. Sir, my beloved grandfather was at Okinawa. McCain: I think Palin should be the VP nominee
I am still not convinced that Romney will be the nominee. Kissenger promised China that Jeb Bush would be the president in 2012.

Politics do make strange bedfellows. I never thought I would see the day when the people at the Daily Kos and the Free Republic both supported the same candidate for president.

Granted it is for different reasons. Prayer Thread For Our Country and Tomorrow's Voting
Post: Kids, it's time to get REAL serious with our prayers for tomorrow's voting. We all know what's at stake here. Obama the socialist, Romney with the socialist-light (cough) agenda.
Our children, grandchildren, WWII vets and their wives...deserve better than what they're getting, or if this whole thing goes south, with what we're ALL going to get!
There is SUCH a darkness hanging over this land. God Himself gave this to us and we've squandered it. I don't know if we've reached the point of no return with Him or not.
All I ask is that we ALL get on our knees and pray for forgiveness. Pray that He will heal our land.

Prayer and changed heart is the only real hope for our nation. In it's darkest days of it's founding a General later to become our nations first President was seen kneeling in private prayer at Valley Forge. His troops lacked food and provisions for the winter. But The Lord provided.
Our nation has taken a very severe moral decline the depths of which unseen since it's founding. There has always been immoral persons. But it is the heart of this nation as a people which is growing cold. The nation which has allowed the very government we elect to remove all mention of our creator GOD from our nation.
I'm not a Biblical Scholar by any stretch. But I read in The Bible where nations were judged and what they were being judged for. We are in serious jeopardy of our nation being judged and I don't say that lightly. Our leaders in a very real sense are our judgment. So has it been through the ages.

Prayer and changed heart is the only real hope for our nation. In it's darkest days of it's founding a General later to become our nations first President was seen kneeling in private prayer at Valley Forge. His troops lacked food and provisions for the winter. But The Lord provided.
Our nation has taken a very severe moral decline the depths of which unseen since it's founding. There has always been immoral persons. But it is the heart of this nation as a people which is growing cold. The nation which has allowed the very government we elect to remove all mention of our creator GOD from our nation.
I'm not a Biblical Scholar by any stretch. But I read in The Bible where nations were judged and what they were being judged for. We are in serious jeopardy of our nation being judged and I don't say that lightly. Our leaders in a very real sense are our judgment. So has it been through the ages.

As the morning now approaches we are very much mindful of the opportunity to bring to you the voters of this day who will be selecting a candidate at the ballot box...we ask you give them wisdom to discern the significance of this election and all which stands in the balance for our country.
Lord, we believe fully that you raise up the leaders of all nations , just as your word does say....we also recognize that this is sometimes to correct us for having refused your rightful place among us..... Forgive us Lord for not seeing or standing as we should for you when it was time that we should have......but we are doing so now... and this to give you back the Glory of this Nation under Your sovereignty and leadership once again.
Choose then Lord, the man who will best serve your purposes.... for You, for this country and it's citizens...that we may once again BE One Nation Under God.

Santorum Wins Missouri Primary (BREAKING: WALL STREET JOURNAL)
One thing I haven't properly captured over the past few weeks is the in-fighting between Freepers about the GOP candidates. There are three distinct groups: the "Romney-bots", who as far as I can tell are not actually pro-Romney (since anyone pro-Romney has been banned or chased away), but rather are pro any GOP candidate and thus against Freepers turning on someone like Romney too harshly this early in the primary [this group consists of both the most reasonable Freepers and the most racist Freepers]; "Newt-bots" (by far the majority), who are throwing their weight behind Newt and thus hate Santorum and Romney with a passion, but Romney moreso; and "Santorum-bots" who, honestly, might be the most sincere of the Freepers, since they mostly refuse to vote Romney because he's Mormon and "socially liberal" and refuse to vote Gingrich because he's not a good Christian, and those are things Romney-bots and Newt-bots used to say.
There are Freepers who don't fall into any of these categories, of course, but they aren't quite as riled up tonight.
I haven't bothered to capture this because, honestly, group 3 has been a minority that I thought would become irrelevant quite quickly. Group 1 is smaller, but I still kind of think Romney is the de facto candidate, so I expected that tension to grow.
Anyway, I thought this might explain some of the following.

Jim Robinson: Taking stock of our dwindling conservative inventory
This is a vanity post by the founder of FreeRepublic, Jim Robinson, asking the community which candidate they should endorse.
His message ends with: But if we don't land on one soon and raise him up over Romney, guess who we're going to be stuck with? And it ain't going to be pretty. And if abortionist/statist/progressive Romney (or moonbat Paul) is the one, might as well get used to four more years of Obama. I won't vote for or support either one of those two.
I'd suggest that we all stop trying to tear down the other conservative candidates in the race and instead concentrate on trying to build up our own personal favorites. Who knows? May even discover an acceptable conservative (if not a great conservative) in the bunch. We've never had a perfect conservative yet. Not even the magnificent Ronald Reagan. We and they all have warts.
But we do want to have a candidate with at least an actual CONSERVATIVE record and not an out and out liberal progressive RINO. So let's compare their records and their actual conservative accomplishments but not try to destroy them personally.

His work with American Solutions was very impressive in that he was able to spell out principles around which the vast majority of Americans agree. No. Whatever Newt’s “baggage”, it’s miniscule compared to Obama’s load and Newt is 100% American. Newt is like Larry the Cable Guy: Send him to DC and he’ll “Git ‘er done”. Junkyard dogs are not show dogs, but they’ll save your bacon.

Gingrich has too much baggage, IMO. After he gets done savaging Romney with ads, he ought to drop out and leave the field to Santorum.
One on one Santorum can beat Romney. We have to clear the field for him. He's the last one standing.

By the end of the thread, Jim Robinson was banning anyone who questioned the anti-Romney stance.
On a side note, yesterday, the number of unique visitors to this blog quadrupled, with no discernible reason. They appear to be visitors who came here directly, rather than via a link or a search engine. Does anyone have any explanation for that? My numbers went back to normal today.
