The Rachel Corrie Myth

Summary: Rachel Corrie was an American student who died at the age of 23 while acting as a human sheild under disputed circumstances in Israel. An Israeli bulldozer struck her and she died in a Palestinian hospital. The Israelis say that the driver was unable to see her from his vantage point. The Palestinians say that nothing was blocking the drivers' vision.

I feel no excitement over the anniversary of her death. It just leaves me flat.

I still crack up when I remember they held her “memorial breakfast” at an Ihop.

Someone said he was going to show up, order some raspberry pancakes and put a Tonka bulldozer on the stack.

There's a picture of her wearing a Hijab, burning an American flag in front of small children. For that alone - teaching children to hate - she should burn in Hell.
I live in Seattle, I should find out if her parents buried her somewhere down near Olympia where they are from so I can go piss on her grave.

Rachel Corrie died in a Palestinian hospital. If he had been taked to an Israeli hospital she might still be alive. She was not “run over” by a bulldozer, she hit her head against the blade when she fell into its path. Her wounds might not have proven fatal, even in the absence of medical attention. Given a little push from Palestinian “doctors”, she never had a chance. She was worth much more to the Palestinians dead than alive.

That’s a scenario that has always made sense. I wouldn’t be surprised if she staged the drama with her ISM and Pali friends, only to discover too late that she purchased a one-way ticket to useful-idiot martyrville.

I've already made my reservations to celebrate at IHOP.

I cannot escape the conclusion that her parents are antisemite bigots who have no more use for the truth than Joseph Goebbels, and she contracted her antisemitism from her parents. Decent people would be demanding an investigation into her treatment from the time she entered the hospital until she was carried out.
