This topic has been HUGE on FreeRepublic over the last few days. If you haven't heard the story, don't worry, like most Freeper outrages, it's based on a little bit of banal fact and a lot of panic.

As egregious as the impact of this on immigration policy may be, the underlying principle should chill every American to the bone. The assumption that, by executive fiat, a president can simply make his own law especially in an area that is clearly under Congress' purview, is nothing short of dictatorial.

Having tasted that sort of power, we have to ask a couple of additional questions:

1. What else will Obama and his minions seek to implement in this fashion? 2. What will they do to hold on to their power when it is time to pass the baton?

Obama is now in direct defiance of the law and needs to be arrested. Unfortunately, there is no one to do it. He is moving to rule by decree. Who's to say that he won't somehow make the illegals eligible to vote in 2012? Once the law is what the maximum leader says it is, the whole system of laws and checks and balances breaks down.

If I were Speaker of the House I would immediately convene a closed-door meeting of all House Republicans and call for impeachment hearings to begin next week. This issue is rather simple. Hearings should take no more than 2 weeks then schedule a vote of the House Judiciary Committee.

An uberleft liberal inlaw once (way before Obama) inadvertantly revealed the left's definition of tolerance: it's a grace period provided by the left, to give their opposition time to come around to the "appropriate" way of thinking. When it is decided that "enough is enough", that those with contrary beliefs and attitudes aren't interested in changing their minds, then there is no need for any more tolerance and grace. The person didn't explain it outright, but plainly enough. What normal people consider as light conversation and differences of opinion, was something quite different, with an end game in sight... "I gave you time to change, but you wouldn't...". Yikes.

This is why they can turn nasty and deadly without any conflict in their conscience. It's simply the next step in the process. And they'll even feel good about the opportunity/time they graciously provided. It demonstrates why the left has a natural affinity with Islam. This same commie dutifully votes because it is the means (at least for now) to secure power and control. The character of the left's pols matters not one bit. It's all about power. These people, like Mooslims, aren't wired for peaceful coexistence with anyone.

They multiply quickly, once they have attached to a host, with their ‘babies’ covering the ‘Mother Lode’. Once they have taken up their ‘free lodging’, their roots go deep into the host, robbing it of it’s life source, and slowly drain it dry.
