Santorum: I Can‘t See Why Trump ’Would Be Any Worse’ of a Moderator than the Mainstream Media

Summary: When asked how he felt about a Trump-hosted debate, Santorum explained that, given the recent string of left-leaning journalists who have served as moderators — some of which he has “not felt comfortable” with — Trump could not be any worse.

“Brian Williams, I wasn’t comfortable with,” started Santorum, adding, “and I had every right not to be, given the questions he asked.”

Trump may actually be better. The MSM does not take kindly to encroachment upon their annointed territory.

Wish we could have debates without their sorry #$@%$es.

*

No kidding! Trump has to be better than 98% of the liberal hacks at those MSM debates. Why have any liberals involved in the Republican primary process? The Republican primary is for the Republican party not the nation as a whole.

*

You better believe that the GOP establishment circled the wagons when Trump called out Rove for the waste of space he is. They probably told Mittens to boycott for that slight to their golden boy.

--- Mittens is Mitt Romney, fyi

*

If the GOP candidates have any FREAKING BRAINS, why would they demean/hurt themselves by attending some shitty %$#@@ LEFTY shows? like MSNBC and the lesbian there? WHY??????????????

When I am sure there plenty of other more respectable conservative organizations who would be willing to hold them?

WE DON'T NEED THE FU**** LEFT, holding Republican debates!

*

‘How much worse could Trump be?’

At least Trump doesn’t want Obama to win again.

I don’t even care for Trump, but I care even less for the Obama media robots.

Trump said, one of the things he will focus on is Red China, and he said it’s not covered, and they are taking our jobs, manipulating our currency, and China’s a huge reason why we are down.

It’s a good thing Trump is bringing this to the table.

*

Huckabee’s forum was actually a very good example of how to do it. Conservative questioners. Conservative moderator. (eh, more or less. It was Huckabee.)

*

He’s absolutely right about that. The Candidates showing up at the debates emceed by the likes of Wolf Blitzed and Brian Williams but NOT showing up for a debate moderated by “the Donald” is ridiculous. And to top it off, if they publicly humiliate him by not showing up, he’s VERY liable to run as an independent, which will screw over the Republicans big time, as far as the White House goes.

*

“How much worse could Trump be?”

I’d bet that the candidates who have declined a Trump moderated debate are more afraid of his not playing the game than than that they have suddenly developed some kind of high standard in politics.

--- Yes, as always, if someone says something is ridiculous, it's just because they're terrified.

Nancy Pelosi declines debate challenge, mocks Rick Perry

Summary: "Nancy Pelosi rebuffed Rick Perry's debate challenge this morning, POLITICO's Jake Sherman reports, giving three reasons for her decision:

"He did ask if I could debate here in Washington on Monday. It is my understanding that such a letter has come in," Pelosi said in the Capitol Thursday. "Monday I'm going to be in Portland in the morning, I'm going to be visiting some of our labs. I'm in California in the afternoon, that's two. I can't remember what the third is.""

“Monday I’m going to be in Portland in the morning, I’m going to be visiting some of our labs. I’m in California in the afternoon, that’s two. I can’t remember what the third is.”***

Here let me help, I can remember the third. “Given access to a restricted stock offering in exchange for congressional favors”.

*

I know you lost your Air force Nancy Plane but who is paying for your travel plans?
With you being one of the Nations best Fund Managers I think you should pay.

*

So then, if I understand correctly...her answer is “No”. She’s not going to debate him.

I don’t think she offered another, alternative date that might work better. She just played the “smart ass” card.

So who appears to be on the run, now? Her or him?

Hmmm?

Just by ASKING he put her into the weeds!

Strategic and outside the box. Posters say “Well, she’s not running. Why debate her?”

Weellll...doesn’t look like he is, but she looks like she’s running from him.

Big win.

*

Good by Rick. Start provoking the DC phonies. Take the Donald Trump approach. Shame these DC Democrat thieves.

*

Reminds me of when Obama had a stop in Texas and Perry tried to hand deliver him a letter regarding the border. Say what you will about Perry but you can’t say he does not have some cajones.

*

"Who writes Nancy’s material? She should give up her day job."

I'll bet she has a nearly all female staff...with a few feminized guys

*

So if Monday doesn’t work, perhaps you could find a time in Iowa over the course of the next month to discuss these issues in front of the people of America’s heartland as the big palooka suggests?

You're really not afraid of him are you?

*

‘rats & leftists really CAN’T debate any issue based on its merits, workability, or actual effectiveness - they would lose every time because reality does not favor leftist ideology.

So, instead, they appeal to emotion, attribute nefarious motive to their opponent, and name call.

*

Perry knew it before he asked.

So like in poker, you don’t play your hand, you play the other player.

And he played her. So now, even though she’s not running, she’s running from him. And if they work it right, Perry now has Pelosi running from/against him...not just Obama.

Now folks have TWO enemies that they despise...and since Perry can’t really debate Obama face-to-face yet, he’s got another one to throw his glove down with.

Everyone talks about “going after Obama, not each other!” Perry’s done that. NOW, he’s directly engaged Pelosi; not just talked about how bad she is, but asked her to go toe-to-toe and explain herself.

I don’t see how this does anything but help Governor Perry. It raises his stature, it raises his visibility, it gives him an common opponent with all conservatives and it demonstrates his balls [if I can say that here].

*

If he’s such a laydown; if he’s such an easy mark...why’s Pelosi running from him?

You’d think she has nothing to lose and he has no chance in a debate, the way people talk.

I think he’s been “lying in the weeds” and has been planning things like this for a long while.

He probably didn’t “Oops” in the debate purposely, but from what I know and read about Perry, he’s WAY strategic. He likes to be underestimated until it matters.

Then, LOOK OUT! Here come the boots!

The Worst Fox News-Google Debate Moment: Audience Boos a Gay Soldier

Article from the Atlantic

One man's worst moment is another man's finest, most heroic hour.

*

"Booing a soldier serving our nation is uncalled for."

He’s not being booed for being a soldier, he is being booed for his behavior. Being a soldier does not indemnify one against their other actions being judged.

"And I suspect if a soldier was booed at a Dem event, you wouldn't be defending the action because "he wasn't being booed for being a soldier" (which NO ONE has suggested).

As a soldier, he deserves the respect of those whose lives he is defending with his own. Has nothing to do with condoning his point of view.

Man, we can't even show simple respect to our soldiers anymore unless they're "our" kind of soldiers? What the heck is going on here?"

---Since I know you'll ask, the person who said soldiers shouldn't be booed was not banned, but their profile now says that they have voluntarily left because they are annoyed with the hive mind mentality.

*

“Any type of sexual activity has no place in the military”

This can’t be repeated enough. Gays out. Women waaaaay in the back / homefront. Soldiers in.

Keep that stuff at home, off base, or on shore-leave.

*

Honesty is the best policy. Coddling a pervert who incidentally got beat up, fired, served his country, is sick, etc., is polite, but not honest. These homos need to accept that their actions are sick demented and immoral, not parade their deficiencies as though they were badges of achievement.

*

If you say you will put DADT back—you will get the military vote.
The privacy of the ballot protects from being arrested by the PC MPs for the new military thought crime of “homophobia.”

*

How do we know that some of the booers at these debates weren’’t agents-provocateurs planted by the other side? (Inquiring minds want to know).

*

That soldier wanted to out himself as gay and people didn’t approve—just like that gay military magazine said—GET OVER IT.

*

It's interesting how the MSM can spin this by saying Republicans were booing a soldier.

*

He got to ask a question ONLY BECAUSE HE"S GAY!!

Open Gays in the military is the WORST thing that has happened to this country.

*

What if he said he’s a PEDOPHILE???? What would be the difference??? He ONLY wants to think about SEX, ANAL SEX!!! They were RIGHT in BOOING! It’s DISGUSTING!

*

The only bad thing was that it was only 3 or 4 people that had the courage to boo. People are so afraid to speak the truth. A Republican debate...full of Republicans.... where people boo or cheer the positions they hear...and only 3 or 4 boo this pervert? A sad day indeed.

*

I don't give crap about queer soldiers they can GTH. The only reason why this DADT repeal is flying is that the economy is so bad. As soon (if ever) the economy picks up the volunteer military is finished.

*

"How is he 'forcing his sin on' you, unless you're hanging around people like that?"

We pay their salaries, Every sailor, soldier, airman and/or marine is a representative of our country. The faggot soldier give the wrong impression, that we are weak and effeminate and not serious like the Europeans. It's dangerous. You are dangerous and are probably gay to boot. Heck maybe that was you in the youtube.

*

He was booed for promoting the homosexual agenda. He should be thrown out of the army for homosexuality or at least tested for steroids. People are sick and tired of tolerance politics.

Santorum hit a home run on that question.

*

"Man, we can't even show simple respect to our soldiers anymore unless they're "our" kind of soldiers?"

If you can't tell the difference between a respectable soldier and an embarrassment to the uniform, you are a moral castrato and your opinion is worthless.

Honor apart from morality does not exist.

*

“As a soldier, he deserves the respect of those whose lives he is defending with his own. “

Nope. No defending fudge-packers. He wasn’t booed for military service. THAT would be a Democrat debate!

He was booed for wanting fudge-packers to be allowed to openly parade their perversion in the military. He was booed for believing a guy stuffing his cock into another guy’s butt is the same as marriage. He was booed for violating natural law, for it doesn’t take much sense to realize that a man’s penis wasn’t meant for another man’s anus.

If the soldier had asked for approval of screwing little boys, or dogs, or having 4 wives, would you say we still need to applaud him?

*

I think it was the question that was booed, not the soldier.

(LIVE THREAD!) Republican Presidential Debate #4

"Can the debate be viewed on the internet anywhere? We don’t get MSNBC."

Yes. Click the source link. That's where MSNBC claims they'll post the live internet stream.

*

What I want to hear discussed, is what each candidate will do to put an end to the islamiztion of America.

I’m pretty sure we will go through the whole campaign without hearing this issue addressed in any detail if at all.

In my estimation, it is the number one, most threatening problem facing America, now and far into the future.

*

Reagan Library and MSNBC in same sentence and MSNBC debate and Reagan Library = Yuck! Sounds like Ron Jrs doing, they let him guest host last week for someone as payback!

Go Perry and Cain, seem to be favorites of mine from this group. Also, I guess Santorum and Bachman aren't bad.

I wish Thad McCotter was there, if nothing else he can, in a humorous, disarming way tell msnbc to go to hell. Like him or not, he has that quality. ALL of the candidates should find a way to put msnbc in it's place, showing a bit of Republican cohesion against the TV arm of the Obama administration.

Nancy Reagan seems to like Marco Rubio -- VP? Just my observations. And last but not least, reading your little bios, maybe he was a good doctor but Ron Paul as my GYN — Eek!!!

*

I think I’ll just watch BOR. That’s how much I hate MSNBC.

*

Perry did well on the first question, IGNORED THE BIAS and gave the answer HE wanted to give.

*

Romney and Perry or any other public serpent can’t create jobs. Why are they arguing this? Dukakis creating more jobs blah blah.

They can destroy jobs. They can only create them by getting out of the way.

*

Smart of the MSM to put them in front of all that red.
They either look like demons talking from Hell or look like they are mad no matter what they say.
In other words they all look scary and isn't that what the Dems are going for,”scary Republicans out to kill granny and starve baby?”

*

WOW! Hermain Cain goes into detail like a college professor!

*

This questions are all FRAMED AS ATTACKS ON THE GOP CANDIDATES! Just as I thought it would be. They won’t even let them discuss the DISASTER THAT IS OBAMA!

*

I wish Michelle had worn something other than black. She looks like the rest of the dudes on stage.

*

Imho, Sarah Palin is DAMNED SMART to avoid this dog-n-pony show right now.....

*

I almost made a comment that Paul’s head was shaking like he had been drinking.

I think he is the only one of the entire group who was actually not a private sector job creator. He is a coffee shop philosopher.

*

I can’t stand huntsman. He reminds me so much of obama.

*

Back to the Bush/Kerry "who would you rather have a beer with", Cain is the guy I want to invite over for lunch after church. However, I don't think he's ready for the White House yet but would love to see him as VP with a mandate to create jobs. Congress thought they hated Chenney, Cain would make them long for the days of Darth Vader.

*

Newt just took the dimwit moderators to task and schooled them... all are there to defeat OBAMA.

*

have you considered that many younger Americans don’t see a point in health insurance? I’m 33. It’s my right to gamble I won’t need it right now. Why should I be forced to give my money over to something I haven’t needed for a decade?

*

“Newt understands that beating Obama is easy, it’s the MSM they are running against.”

EXACTLY. I’m hoping that the GOP candidates are on an email thread together somewhere agreeing what the priorities are....

*

WTF!!!!!

I THOUGHT IT WAS AT 9 !!!

DAMN FOX,THEY NEVER DAID IT WAS ON AND AREN’T SHOWING IT!!!

I AM SO MAD!!

--- Ha, the channel that was horrified that Obama would dream of holding his speech on the same night as the debate apparently didn't think the debate was worthy of mention?

*

“That is hogwash. Rubio and Jindal are qualified.”

LOLOLOL Yes, you are right....each are guality Conservative people with good skill sets. I judge them to have the qualities I’d like to see in a president........

But the issue is Constitutional eligibility.

Neither meets Article II requirements.

Sorry bub, but the truth is painful sometimes.

*

Having MSNBC show a tribute to Ronald Reagan is like having Hitler emcee a bar mitzvah.

*

"Anyone else getting weepy at this tribute to Reagan? I am. I’m 34 and Reagan is the first President I can remember."

I always get weepy.

I knew he was great then.

I know better how really great he was, now.

Imagine a President who actually loves his country again.

*

I’ll admit to a lump in my throat during that tribute. Not only for the Reagans, but for the reminder of what a decent, pro-American presidency was.

*

Romney: this President is a nice guy, he just doesn’t have a clue how to get this country running (paraphrase)

Uh...NO, he is NOT a “nice guy”.

*

MSLSD is deliberately avoiding giving Cain much face time. They still want to perpetuate the illusion of a “racist” GOP and Tea Party.

*

Williams with another attack on Perry. Education this time. Atleast Perry points out the illegal immigration issue this time.

Let me say, OBAMA HAS NEVER FACED THIS KIND OF QUESTIONING!

*

Perry just missed an opportunity to explain educational issues in Texas — when the students don’t speak English it’s hard to teach them anything.

*

Palin is licking her chops watching this thing tonight.........

*

It is not accidental that Americans do not know about the successful Chilean retirement system. They privatized it about 3 decades ago, and people were able to retire very comfortably.

*

Any words of sympathy from The Won about Texas on fire?

*

"I am just glad Sarah stayed away from this hit on the repubublican’s by MSNBC, what a waste of time."

These guys all need the face-time - Sarah does not - once she's all in, all eyes will be on her, not these guys.........

*

"Sarah Palin thinks she's going to pick up an advantage by not attending?? And not declaring??

I think she missed the boat. "

of course it’s an advantage. Palin has never seen Rick Perry in this kind of context before! Better that she studies the whole picture and strategizes.

Meanwhile Texas burns.

*

I want to know where they stand on 'sharia law' - in America. . .how they feel about radical Islamists/connections in our White House? How do they feel about 9/11 being transformed - by Obama; the Muslim Hearted; into a national day of 'service' rather than rememberance; and where ALL victims (yes, we know who they are) are celebrated?

In a word or two; how the hell do they feel about the disappearance of 'America' and American values? And what are they going to do; to help restore our Country?

My message to candidates: It's NOT JUST THE ECONOMY!

*

Bachmann just spanked them all on globull worming! She aptly pointed out that Obama just had to reign in the EPA or suffer a 20 percent cut in coal fired plants.

*

Maybe it’s been the horror of the Obama years, maybe it’s just that the 8 Bush years were a fabulous time in my life but there is something about Perry reminding me of W that makes me nostalgic.

*

Ahhhggghhh they cut to Rachel Maddow after the debate and I couldn’t shut it down fast enough! My eyes! My eyes!

*

It does take a lot more than talk to make a Conservative. Words mean absolutely nothing to me any longer... obama killed that off forever. What does matter is record and actions... and most of those people... not all of them... but most on that stage tonight are not Conservatives... and those that are have such serious flaws as to disqualify them. Cain was the only one last night that was on that stage that I can trust or would vote for today.

*

Of course Sarah is running, tonight proved that her approach is the perfect one in this kind of environment.

New Hampshire GOP Debate

No link.

I hope Palin and West are just waiting it out;
let these guys beat each other up first.

Not that Bachman and Cain wouldn’t get my vote,
but the above are my top picks.

*

no offense, but until “the Lady” is there, I have DVD’s to rewind

*

This is all about who can out-Reagan and out-God the other.

I’m betting on Bachmann for the God-pandering, with Santorum a close second, and Pawlenty for the Reagan-pandering, again with Santorum in second.

--- Oh my god, they've become self-aware!

*

Since it’s on CNN and it’s a GOP debate, you know there’s going to be a question on “Do you believe in evolution?” or “Should evolution be taught in schools?” in order to make the candidates look “intolerant”.

*

All candidates should utterly disregard any question they are asked and focus soley on attacking Obama. It’s just going to be a bunch of gotcha questions anyhow.

--- Again using the term "a gotcha question" to mean "any question".

*

I KNEW they’d put Cain and Bachmann on the ends. The media is pushing Newt and Romney down our throats, so they get the middle spots.

*

I'm not watching this crap, no one on that stage has a shot at the Oval Office, maybe Cain has a shot for VP.
Bunch of losers.

*

Elections: The opiate of a once free people.

*

When are the American people going to ask why did Mittens spend 130million for a 400K job in ‘08 and why is he doing it again?

*

audience stacked with rinos

*

"Obama is a one term President!"

We can only hope there's fair elections. Heck, we can only hope there are elections next time.

*

To: bgill
I thought Romney was the enemy but now that Bachmann is in it looks like the attacks will shift to her. If Palin supports think so highly of her and her chances (if she runs) why the need to take pot shots against Bachmann? Usually when people go after someone it’s because they’re afraid of them. Isn’t that what Rush says all the time about the MSM and their attacks on Palin?

*

My God, Michelle Bachmann is beautiful! I didn't realize how beautiful she is.

*

Gingrich is easily the brightest and most successful politician on that stage, he orchestrated seizing control of Congress from the marxists in 94 , and deserves our thanks and gratitude.
He of course has no shot at the White House due to his personal life and the high negatives he generates, but its good that he is there to present the conservative case in a clear and concise manner.

He's no phony son of a bitch like that liar and coward from a family of liars and cowards Romney, and hes also not one step ahead of the butterfly nets like Paul or the morgue like Pawlenty.

Bachman has a lot of balls being up there, she needs more seasoning, but is a prospect, and also will do a good job in agitating for Tea Party values and against the Washingtonians.

Cain is a wild card, he talks the talk, and would make for an unbeatable ticket if he is the VP candidate with Palin.

I'd like to see him in a VP debate against that glad handing psycho SOB Biden, Cain is clumsy because hes new to the political game, Biden has no excuse.

*

Cain is a major threat to Obama’s image. An African-American who challenges the liberal ideas and can take Zero to the woodshed. I would love to see him in a debate with Obama. I swear, Cain would probably take off his belt and whoop him with it.

*

Bachmann is doing better than I expected so far. I thought she’d be really nervous being the only woman on stage but she’s holding her own so far.

*

King says applause takes away time yet asks the dumb ass question “Elvis or Johnny Cash?”

WTF???

--- Can't say I disagree too much with this point.

*

To: Winstons Julia
Anybody candidate with an ounce of self respect should be making their exit about now.
John King is obviously making them out to be fools.

*

Bachman is not the 1st woman to be in a debate

Hillary was 1st in 2008

*

I don't care how good Bachmann is tonight, she can't even manage a campaign.
Sarah Palin is responsible for her even being in office.Sarah campaigned with her fund raised for her shes in office due to Sarahs' efforts! Bachmann was dumb enough to hire Ed Rollins, a known rino loser, and then she lets him run wild saying crap about Palin!! What kind of manager is that?

*

"It appears that the internet and 24 hour news time has changed announcement dates."

Or, announcing that early was what that unknown Affirmative Action candidate (with a level of experience that would have been laughed at if he had been a white male) needed to get the name recognition he required to get some traction.

America fell for Affirmative Action once and got a severe case of buyer's remorse. I predict that America will not fall for Affirmative Action a second time.

The internet and 24 hour news time not only builds name recognition. Stay under that magnifying glass long enough and it ultimately destroys you as the early candidates form a circular firing squad and the media vultures attack.

*

Bachmann just said Obama is “far more eloquent” than she is...uh, no!

*

o crap Bachmann does the 0bama pandering.............
booooo!

*

Palin is brilliant to avoid this pre-game warm up show

*

[Cain saying no Sharia] was a good answer. But why didn’t any of the candidates object to the question itself? The words “separation of church and state” appear NOWHERE in the Constitution.

*

Romney (foolishly) has no worry about Sharia law. He basically said “It can’t happen here.”

*

Cain - wouldn’t be comfortable with a muslim in his cabinet. Too many out there want to kill us. He believes in AMERICAN laws. Muslims have tried to influence American courts with shia law.

Audience cheered.

Cain - wants someone committed to the Constitution.

King is trying to twist Cain’s answer. Jerk.

*

To: eak3
All of them would run circles around Obama in a fair debate.

All of these folks know what they are talking about.
They can elaborate and don’t just rely on memorized answers.
I’d rather have any of them in the WH right now!

*

I AM SICK TO DEATH OF TRYING TO TELL THESE IDIOTS THAT THERE IS NO THING CALLED THAT IN OUR CONSTITUTION. [sep of church and state]

That phrase goes back to the commie manifesto of 1963.

The left have hammered that phrase so much that people just say it but every time I ask them where does it state that they have a blank stare

*

"The phrase “separation of church and state” actually goes back to a letter from President Thomas Jefferson in the early 1800s."

Find the letter and read it. In the letter, Jefferson is trying to reassure the Minister that the Constitution sets up a wall of separation between Church and State in order to protect the rights of everyone to freely practice their religion.

The left in this country have completely reversed Jefferson's meaning.

*

"Rick Santorum is qualified to be president because HE was born here. It doesn’t matter where his parents were born or if they are U.S. citizens or not"

Oh yes it does matter

If his parentsa were not born in the US or American citizens at the time of his birth he is not eligible

Barrys father was not an American citizen when he was born so Barry is not eligible to be POTUS

*

[discussing whether Palin's voice would be a problem for her running]

a) Exactly: Palin has been working on her voice you can tell through recent interviews and

b) There’s authenticity behind her voice...It’s like the difference between Obama and MLK Jr. Obama has a decent voice, but there’s no heart behind what he says. No *real* deep seated passion or conviction. Just air.

*

CNN after the debate said that the Republicans were getting away from war all the time, part because McCain is all about war all the time, and he wasn’t in the debate like last time.

Also, these are Obama’s wars now. And being against military action in Libya is being against Obamas foreign policy. That’s the Socialist Obama. Ron Paul is against his foreign policy. You are in favor of the Socialist Obamas foreign policy?
